Oso Brown Rug
ABACA RUG
Strong, wise, and undeniably striking. The Oso Brown Rug is a powerful, sculptural depiction of a bear in motion, handmade from 100% natural abaca fiber. Part of the collection by Charlap Hyman & Herrero for Patterson Flynn, a studio recognized with the 2026 National Design Award for Interior Design by the Cooper Hewitt Smithsonian Design Museum. Hand-coiled in long strands of supple natural abaca, the designers harnessed the fiber's malleable, versatile properties to follow the sleek, fluid lines of a bear mid-stride. Bold black abaca linework outlines the silhouette and brings to life every detail, from claws to ears to face, resulting in a simple yet deeply evocative work of functional art.
