“Best Paint Ever!!!”
We just moved into a new home and have been doing a ton of painting. We've used farrow and ball, Sherwin Williams, and Benjamin Moore paint and Backdrop was by far my favorite to paint with. The color is gorgeous in person. This paint covered extremely well, didn't drip, didn't streak, was extremely smooth to paint with and overall was a great experience. The paint dried quickly and didn't give me a headache like most paints with a ton of fumes. I'm so glad that I was introduced to this company. I will be buying from here again!
“Absolutely Thrilled / First Class!”
I’ve thought and reflected, but I don’t have a single complaint. The entire Backdrop experience was simple and more elegant than I expected. I ordered paint and supplies at three o’clock in the morning and it was delivered the next day. Felt like witchcraft. The paint went on beautifully, everything that I needed came in the delivery, and blissfully, I didn’t have to leave the house. I’ve painted many times in the past, but I’ve never felt like I was having a luxury experience. Already planning my next room!
Nice paint!
Bottom Line: “Yes, I would recommend this to a friend”The colors were as expected. They were fun and cheery and a perfect way to brighten our house. We live in a foggy place and found that the colors worked well in both sun and with some artificial light in the fog. I have tried 3 different colors and liked the way all 3 turned out. I will absolutely buy more.

Not so delicate, but awesome.
Bottom Line: “Yes, I would recommend this to a friend”I chose NOT SO DELICATE paint color for my powder room. Great color, soft with hints of lavender tied the room together nicely. Paint was nice to apply with good coverage.

We LOVE this green paint!
Bottom Line: “Yes, I would recommend this to a friend”This green is SO gorgeous on the walls! Warm and welcoming. It's not blue-green or yellow-green or gray-green; it's just straight-up GREEN, and we LOVE it. The paint went on smoothly and covered beautifully.
Easy to get it right
Bottom Line: “Yes, I would recommend this to a friend”I really enjoyed my Backdrop experience. I received the paint and also hints for working with it, which made it easy to apply to my dresser. I like the container the paint came in, it was easy to shake then mix the paint. I love the color, I did 3 coats, waiting the appropriate time between them. It came out nice! I'm still waiting for a few more days before putting the hardware back on, but I think it's going to be beautiful. Thanks.
Sandy Beach Soft Dirt
Bottom Line: “Yes, I would recommend this to a friend”After much deliberation I am very happy with Palo Santo in our guest bedroom. It feels warm, earthy, grounding, and soft. It’s not quite yellow not quite beige; it’s a perfect in between that feels like a Northern California beach.

Perfect Periwinkle
Bottom Line: “Yes, I would recommend this to a friend”After searching for the perfect periwinkle paint, I chose Backdrop and was not disappointed. It is a beautiful bold blue with a hint of purple. It's gorgeous.

GET THIS PAINT IT IS WORTH IT
Bottom Line: “Yes, I would recommend this to a friend”BACKDROP IS A ONE COAT PAINT. lemme say that again 📣. To me, it’s the most important detail of this review. I wanted to wait until I’d used another brand of paint before writing this review. This is for the “I’m super detail oriented I want all the details before buying something” kind of people. Backdrop is honestly a joy to work with. You know that whatever color you choose will be beautiful because it’s curated, but also because the paint quality is just that good. It’s like… foolproof. My husband went awol and started rolling some paint on a part of our bathroom even tho it was my babyyy and surprisingly, it literally looks the same as the part I did. My sister used it too. The whole wall looks like it was just color blocked on (like when you use the paint bucket tool in an art app). No streaks. Also, it comes off your hands super easily and you can wipe it off tile and plastic and metal real easily if you do it soon after. It doesn’t smell strong, but it does smell. I don’t mind the smell and I’m super sensitive to smells. We are like a fragrance free household. What was the other brand I just tried? Sherwin Williams EMERALD. Literally their top of the line paint. At full price, it’s about $10 more than backdrop for a gallon. I just painted part of a wall and it’s streaky and patchy and I used the exact same technique as I did with backdrop paint. They have more colors to choose from, sure. But you can’t even return unused paint from there because they “tinted it”. I’m sure it will look good after a second coat, but I am a new mom in a new house and I don’t have timeeee to be redoing paint jobs. If I could go back, I’d probably try my best to find the most similar color at backdrop and use their paint for my whole house. Oh oh and “they” say that the more gloss the paint has, the harder it is to make it look good? I was nervous to do semi gloss for the bathroom cuz we used regular interior for our breakfast nook. Yesss the bathroom isn’t perfect. BUT it was not nearly as bad or scary or frustrating as I thought. Still looks amazing. The color in the photos for the bathroom are 36 hours in marrakesh (I mentioned it was pink and my husband, alarmed, said “no, it’s not?”. He’s actually the one who picked it. So, husband approved). It can look a bit orange in pictures, but it’s like a pinker alternative to terracotta. I doubt it has any yellow in it (yellow would make it more orange since orange is yellow and red). Anyways, sorry I don’t have any photos of the final decorated product yet. I was just salty about sherwin Williams and wanted to write this review asap. Hope it helps!

experienced painter loves it
Bottom Line: “Yes, I would recommend this to a friend”I am an experienced painter, loving Benjamin Moore, Farrow, Behr, Aura, Lime paints and plaster. I loved backdrop. The coverage was great and it was not drippy. I used two coats but in some cases one may do it. Likes the recyclable can and fresh, simplified color chocie. Shipping was fast and the box was excellent.
Customer Service was above and beyond
Bottom Line: “Yes, I would recommend this to a friend”Not only was the color exactly what I was hoping for, but when I had a few follow up questions for the customer service team, they were beyond helpful.
Inspired
Bottom Line: “Yes, I would recommend this to a friend”We LOVE the selections we chose for our baby’s room. We used Harajuku Morning on three walls and Formentera for one accent wall. It’s stunning. I really appreciate the quality of the paints and the color selections. Fully intend to use some wallpaper too!!

Just what I was looking for
Bottom Line: “Yes, I would recommend this to a friend”I wanted something that would make a great accent wall color without darkening the space too much. This color works so well with all the different colors and wood tones throughout the room. Great coverage.

Perfect blue for bathroom
Bottom Line: “Yes, I would recommend this to a friend”Finding the perfect blue was proving quite difficult in my windowless bathroom but I bit the bullet and ordered a gallon because I trusted backdrop to have created the perfect color. Luckily my instincts were right! Not too blue but just blue enough! Doesn’t feel too “baby’s bedroom” coded.
loved the paint, container not so much
Bottom Line: “Yes, I would recommend this to a friend”The quality of the paint is amazing. So great to work with . I love it. However, the "olive oil" type lid tab ripped off immediately and it was extremely difficult to open smoothly after that. too bad, but maybe OG paint tins with a regular lid would be a better idea. Great paint though. id give someone a heads up about being verrrry carefull not to rip the black tab.
