Color and good design should make you feel something. Paint is where we started, but color has always been our point of view. Our studio approaches color as a material: a tool with the ability to set the mood, transport you, and create an atmosphere. Backdrop is where color comes to life, creating spaces that feel alive, expressive, and lived in.
Backdrop was founded by husband-and-wife duo Caleb and Natalie Ebel. In 2021, Backdrop joined F. Schumacher & Co., the heritage design house established in 1889.
